About

Foxes are medium-sized, omnivorous mammals belonging to several genera of the family Canidae. They have a flattened skull, upright triangular ears, a pointed, slightly upturned snout, and a long bushy tail. Foxes live on every continent except Antarctica. The most common and widespread species of fox is the red fox with about 47 recognized subspecies.Twelve species belong to the monophyletic "true foxes" group of genus Vulpes. Approximately another 25 current or extinct species are always or sometimes called foxes; these foxes are either part of the paraphyletic group of the South American foxes, or of the outlying group, which consists of the bat-eared fox, gray fox, and island fox.

RED FOX

The red fox is the largest of the true foxes and one of the most widely distributed members of the order Carnivora, being present across the entire Northern Hemisphere. Red foxes like open areas in woodlands, rural and suburban neighborhoods, wetlands, and brushy fields. Red foxes prefer rodents and rabbits, but they will also eat birds, amphibians, and fruit. Red foxes have excellent hearing. They can hear low-frequency sounds and rodents digging underground.

WHITE FOX

The Arctic also known as the white fox is a small fox native to the Arctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere and commont throughout the Arctic tundra biome. it is well adapted to living in cold environments, and is best known for its thick, warm fur that is also used as camouflage. It has a large and very fluffy tail. They prefer to eat small rodents called lemmings, but when times are tough they’ll eat whatever they can find: insects, berries, and even the droppings of other animals.

CAPE FOX

The cape fox is a small specie of fox, native to southern Africa. It is also calle a South African version of a fennec fox due to its similarly big ears. It is the only "true Fox" occurring in sub-Saharan Africa, and it retains primitive characteristics of Vulpes because it diverged early in the evolutionary history of the group. The Cape Fox preys on insects, mice and other small animals. They occasionally ingest wild fruit and carrion in farming areas.
